Gas Hurt Paint?

So every once in a great while i will pull up to the pump that is borderline retarded...push the button and pull the nozzle off its it purch and blam it pukes a quick spurt right onto the side of the truck, my question is will this hurt the paint? i wipe down the area with a paper towel wetted with water asap everytime but i was just curious if gas is as hungry for paint as acetone or other mineral spirits...

As long as you wash rinse it off with water right away, I think it's fine. I use gas to remove tar from my truck sometimes.

I don't believe it'll hurt the paint, although it will take the wax off the paint.

I get the occasional attendant that is careless and spills a bit on my truck (which is probably why i rarely let someone fill my truck)...I always just wipe it down or give it a quick rinse (usually with the window washer fluid squeegee's haha)

A buddy of mine moved his girlfriend from Jersey to Georgia several years back. She spent over 30 minutes honking the horn at the 7/11 waiting on the attendant to pump the gas at the self serve station........we all got a really big chuckle. When she was told it was self service, she had no clue how to do any of the pumping and somebody had to show her.
