Tuner For 2010 Lmm

I just recently purchased a 2010 Silverado 2500HD and have a few questions regarding tuners. Not really sure if I install a tuner if it would void my 5yr/100,000 mile warranty and no one I know can give me a straight answer. I do heavy towing for long distances going to and from the race track almost every weekend and then use the truck as a daily driver going back and forth to work. Eventually I want to head back to the West Coast and am always looking at ways to get more horse and torque out of an engine. My big thing is...will a tuner void my warranty?

Yes, it probably will.

I would suggest custom tuning with EFILive or a PPE programmer. A Diablo Sport Predator is also a good tuner for the money.

It will void your warranty PERIOD. The computer on the diesel trucks records that fact that the programming has been changed and GM requires a snapshot of the computer from the dealer before any warranty power train work is done. Take a visit to DeiselPlace.com, there has been plenty of talk about this and several who have had there warranties voided. There was one recently that bought a truck used and was told it had a warranty then when he needed to make a claim GM voided the warranty because of traces of the first owners programming.

Thank you so much for giving me the answers that I needed before I made a major mistake. By no means does the LMM need any added torque or horse. I think the wife was the happiest....knowing that I won't be dropping any money into the truck for at least 5 years...at least that gives me time to save up and figure out what I want/need.

This is proof that some people should be seen and not heard!!!! what a twisted pile of fact and BS.

It is possible to tune that truck with no worries about voiding your warranty. And the people that say it cant sound like the corvette owner that laughed at me at the drag strip when we got paired up at test & tune. I am pretty sure i hurt his feelings when the tree went green!!

if you are still looking for some better power and increased MPG without hurting your warranty. please let me know. i do it every day with great success!!!!

Careful.................Read below, straight from the tuners themselves! You have an older truck and so yes you can get away with it but not the 2010.

History tracking is valid on Global A vehicles and 2007.5+ Duramax trucks ONLY.

Global A vehicles are:

2010 Coverage

Chevrolet Camaro

Buick Lacrosse

Cadillac SRX

Chevrolet Equinox

GMC Terrian

Additional for 2011

Buick Regal

Chevrolet Cruz

Chevrolet Volt

As an EFI tuner myself, i agree 100%, however the easiest way around this problem is with the use of an aftermarket performance module. If you intercept the engine control signal post ECM, and heighten the performance pre engine the ECM is none the wiser and has nothing to retain!!!

why risk it either way? i'd take the warranty over a few extra numbers any day of the week
