I Now Have Dic

Well two years ago I bought a new steering wheel with the buttons part # 10364488 and a clock spring part # 26101829 to add dic and radio controls to my 05 Sierra. These parts have sat in the garage since then. Yesterday I got the urge to do something to the truck so out comes these parts...

Any way there will be two connectors not used. The longest bundle of wires is for the Quadrasteer and a two wire combination with a neon green connector are not used.

 

I finished up this morning and installed everything correctly (i'm geezer status) I have dic with out any programming. Yea me. I had bought a new 2500 cluster with the trans temp gage when my truck was new. I got it from Charlie's speedo shop in florida.

He must have programmed the dic functions in the cluster before he shipped it to me.

 

Anyway I went to the Chevrolet dealer at noon to get the UK3 redundant radio controls programmed. It took around an hour.

 

GM no longer uses VCI numbers. GM now issues a calibration file that is directly downloaded to the Tech 2 (VIN specific) and then uploaded to the BCM for the Redundant Steering Wheel Controls to be turned on. Apparently, there no longer exists the VCI numbers.

 

Down side is Government motors charged me 50 bucks for the down load . Now every thing works dic and radio controls.
