Official 6.2l Thread

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a Sierra with a 6.2L in it and I know that i am probably not the only one who is struggling finding performance upgrades along with other general questions. So I thought I would start a thread and hopefully this will be a good place to share some information and advice.

I need to find a good Cold Air Intake. I also would like to know how to make the exhaust a little louder, maybe by removing resonator? As far as a tune it seems like most of you are pleased with Black Bear.

So if you have any input please reply.

Thanks

Removing the resonator is what most do here and the sounds is awesome. As far as a cold air intake, I'd look for S&B or Volant for a true cold air intake. Congrats on the new truck. If I was to buy a new one, it too would be the 6.2 with the NHT package.

Why "Nov."? Is there a special deal coming up in November?

We have a Black Bear tune meet coming up here in Pittsburgh in November (12-13)

as far as the exhaust so it is not worth replacing the muffler with a flowmaster per say and keeping the resonator.

Definitely what the Black Bear tune, I still need to be schooled on everything. I am trying to figure out if the AutoCal comes with a tune or not. O think this is the what i want to go basically so i can put it back to stock if i have to bring it back to the dealership for warranty issues.

Th CIA for the 6.2l are the same as the 5.3's right.... same part # on volants website

Thanks for the replies

The autocal price and tune price are separate. Justin will email your tune to you and you then put it on your truck. He emailed me the stock and modified tune (I did the in-person tune) so you can out it back to stock. I think you would have to copy your stock tune and save it to your computer. ALso the autocal will do data logging.

The AutoCal is $549 and comes with a tune. For current customers the AutoCal is $259, as they already have a tune to load up.

I thin that would be the way to go, is the tune meet in Pittsburgh still a go or are you still seeing if there will be enough participants.
