I have a 2004 GMC Sierra. Has anyone done away with there cats? I'm wondering if i gut em will my truck run messed up? I think at least one of them is clogged. I really don't want to spend $450 to replace them. I know the older vehicles use to come alive without the cats but the newer vehicles have so many sensors and stuff i don't want to mess anything up. Is there a way to bypass the o2 sensors? Thanks Mike

When I was running an HHO generator I put two spark plug foulers on my O2 sensors and that was supposed to lean it out, I don't know whether or not it worked, though. But for the rear o2 sensors you can make some foulers yourself to stick the o2 sensors in. And then you can cut the cats without a cel.

its illegal to take your cats out. Even if you can get away with it your O2 sensors will trigger your CEL. replace it yourself and save money. Also cut out your cat and sell it. Some are worth money. They have platinum in them.

What is a spark plug fouler? What is the CEL? I've never really done much with engines that's why I here asking. Sorry for the ignorance!

Spark plug anti fouler is a device you put a spark plug in then screw it into the engine if the engine is running rough for a quick repair to keep the spark plugs fresh. CEL= Check Engine Light. Just happens the spark plug threads and o2 sensors have the same thread size.
