The pic you have is of a 2009 or earlier truck, possibly an 08 and the color is called Steel Gray Metallic". That color was replaced by storm gray in 2010. Also the stopped putting the small GM emblem (in front of the Sierra emblem on door) on the front door starting about 01/01/10.

So you can't get that color anymore........................

that to me looks like a truck from back in late 06 and early 07 when they were doing the introductory photo shoots for the GMT-900's....it appears to me like the Medium Brown Metallic they offered a few years ago...

If it were a Chevy, which it's not, the color would be called Graystone Metallic.

I had a 2006 Duramax in that color and it was gorgeous; easy to keep clean and never tired of it.

However, I DID grow exceedingly tired of the 2500HD. The extra height, the "bigness," constantly worrying about getting a tank of bad diesel and all that.

Happily, I am in a Silverado 1500 CC/SB Z-71 LTZ now and happy like crazy with my new truck. I had several GMT-800 trucks, but the GMT-900 is that on steroids ... love the LTZ. Love the new truck. The color? VICTORY RED.

Dogzapper, (yes, I remember your old forum name)you never drove that truck - it had to be the biggest garage queen on this forum. And I thought my mileage was low at 16,000 something. How many miles were on that Duramax? 4k? Did you trade it in?

Nope, no trade-in.

I found a wonderful young man on Diesel Place who bought that excellent truck from us. We worked the deal out over the Internet, we met him at the Portland International Airport, we went to our bank and took care of the $$$ details and he drove it home.

The young man truly appreciated what a fantastic truck he was purchasing .... an Old Man's Rig that had been babied every day of it's life. And we were delighted to see our wonderful Duramax being launched into an active life with her new family.

Everybody won ... Us, the nice young folks and the Duramax.

Yes, the young family bought our 2006 LT-3 Duramax, four years old, with slightly under 6,000 miles on the odometer. They literally got the deal of a lifetime.

And I am totally in love with our new rig.

It is a GREAT thing when every party is delighted with a deal ... and when literally everyone is RIGHT ... that they got the best part of the deal. I'm totally delighted that our Duramax found it's new home and that we were able to find a truck that was right for us/ Everybody wins ... and that is as it should be.

Did I mention how much I love our new rig???? Lots!!!!!!!
