Supercharger Question

I am interested in a wynjammer S/C for my 4.3L engine. I did a search of this forum and found very little information and that was somewhat dated. Does anyone have any recent experience with these S/C's?

I've never seen a truck with one on it.

The design makes me a little nervous...Looks like the belt would walk off pretty easily under load.

I had a magnacharger on my 5.3L, it just used a longer serpentine belt. Only once did I have a belt issue, and that was because the nut on the blower pulley came loose and started to wobble (shredded the belt).

Other than that, the belt worked fine.

I've never head of that brand or seen any in action though.....

Completely different type of supercharger. Maggie is a roots, and what he's linking to is a centrifugal.

It does look like a centrifugal type. Just saying the belt wouldn't be an issue....

Thanks for the info. As best as I can tell from the site, the belt is a cog drive. So far this is the only S/C I've found for the 4.3L. If there are others out there I'd be interested in knowing about them.

I'm interested in a S/C for the extra power it will give me. With my other mods, and driving techniques, there is the possibility for at least a modest increse in mileage. And the cost of the unit is less than the cost of an engine swap.

your gonna need A LOT more then just supercharger to get some real power... not to sink your boat but i really think its a complete waste of money.... maybe sell your GMT900 and get a GMT800 with a 5.3.......id sure as hell rather have a GMT800 5.3 then a GMT900 V6...

Swapping out to a V8 would require a bunch of work........... Mounts would have to move around. PCM change among other things.

Get a V8 Truck and forget about it....

It's not that bad of a swap and can be done in a weekend for about half what that supercharger costs if you're willing to put a used 5.3 in there.
