Toyo M/t And Nitto Trail Grappler M/t

I'm debating between a few mud terrains and think I've got it narrowed down to these two. I wanted to get a quick thread going to see if anyone has some personal experience with either of these tires (or even have a recommendation for a different mud terrain).

It's going be a 33x12.50x20 on a 5" RCX kit on OEM GMC 20's.

Posts about mileage wear and overall performance is what I'm really looking for in replies. I do not care about the tread noise.

I have the Toyo M/T's but they are just 265/70/17's and I've had no drop in mileage, they seem to be wearing good. I don't have a bunch of expierence with them offroad, but so far they have done excellent in sticky mud, sloppy mud and sand.

Toyo Open Country M/T all the way. Here's a set of '35 tires on my 02 Sierra.

Handled great, quite, and hugged the road. I believe I had 35K on them when I traded in my truck and could have gotten another 20K+ easy.

both are great tires but the toyos have an awesome track record.

I got them from Les Schwab, but I don't think they have any in Dallas. You can find retailers all around.

Toyo's hand down... currently running 35's and they handle great. Not completely loud but you do get a hum sound. As for wear, they are wearing pretty well too. Plan on going with Toyo's again when I put a body lift and run 37's on the truck.

You could also look at Rimzoneonline.com, I purchased mine when they were on sale, all four for $1100 something including freight charges.

Have had both in a 33x12.5 /20. Toyos-good wear,a little noisy but not bad until they get a lot of wear.Dont perform that well in the mud down hear in La and ride quality is decent . Nitto's-much quieter and better riding tire.dont pull as good as toyo in the mud.As for wear i havent finished wearing them out so dont know.Only have about 20k miles onthem but they seem to be wearing very well. I just bought another set of the nittos mainly based on ride and noise.I have a mud truck now so not worried about how they pull.But the toyo is a great tire all around and a little more agressive looking.

Yup I already emailed him. He said he has the Toyo's on his Jeep and loves them.

Thanks, do you know how much tread is left at 20K miles w/ the Nittos?

From what I've found the Nitto's will be about $50 less per tire after mounting/balancing. I dont know if the extra 200 for the Toyo's is worth it, just need to make a decision and stick with it lol.

I don't think many people know how well the Nitto's wear. They just came out last October and most people don't drive their trucks in a year. I've only had mine for a few thousand and no complaints thus far. I was going to go with the Toyo's but I wanted to give these a shot because I think they look BA. They ride nice too but I can't compare because I've never owned the Toyo's.

I really dont.There on my son's truck and the 20k is an estimate.they dont look like they have much wear but they never seem to till that last 10k r so

Im running some M/T Baja ATZ 33/13.5/20. So far the wear has been good. Have about 20K on them and not anywhere near the half way point. They are however extremely loud. I do a lot of highway traveling so this will be my last set. I will go to somthing a little less agressive. They do great off road tho....
