Anybody notice that z71s are like 10 to 1 ratio when it comes to off road package equiped trucks compared to other brands? I've seen maybe two rams equiped with the mountain goat package or whatever its called, FX4s and TERD equiped f-150s and Nerdras i see here and there but whats the deal? just a good old 4x4 GMT is rare around here, but z71s oh my theres one in every driveway

i have noticed that too.... dodge even has an offroad package? hahhahahaha mountain goat package... its kinda of annoying that its so popular. it actually does seem that the 4x4 stickers are more rare. i do see a lot of FX4's though(which is a useless package)

yes, its crazy how big thr z71 package is....for a decal and set of shocks, yes dodge has one...i have no idea what comes with it but its like TRO or something like that

do they even make 4x4 stickers anymore? for what you get too the z71 package is a good deal and i bet dealers just order a lot of trucks that way.

I thought the Z71 package also included skid plates? Or is that only on the 2500?

it does, or it did anyway- dunno bout the 900s.

dodge had an off road package called "off road" package for their line of trucks that were in the 1998-2003 era if im not mistaken, and it was pretty sick looking, it sat up real high and could fit some big tires

the power wagon is cool, but they have a package like z71....it lacks the cummins option though(power wagon)

I bought my truck used in 2008 (it's a 2007) and I don't think I saw one truck that was non-Z71. :nono:

I guess it doesn't bother me, but I probably wouldn't have paid extra for it, given the choice.

The only 4x4 GM's that aren't Z71 I see running around these parts are the El Cheapo Bare-Bones Models. It seems like nobody goes "in-between". They either spring for the whole nine yards, or go as bone-stock as you can get em'.

Anyone seen the latest Jeep commerical that pokes fun at someone elses 'off road package' for NOT having

metal skip plates? As this question is mentioned, the vehicle is shown going over rocks that crunch on the skip plate.

There are lots of non-Z71 trucks around here, so I guess it's regional.

Suspension Package, Off-Road, includes: 1.81" (46 mm) shocks, off-road jounce bumpers, 36mm front stabilizer bar, Skid Plate Package, air cleaner and Z71 decals on rear quarters.

Personally, it's worth the small price... even if just for the high flow air filter and skid plate.
