Window Malfunction, It's Cold Here

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS, and recently the passenger side window stopped working. The window itself falls down while driving after manually having to pull it up to close and when pressing the window control switch nothing happens, just a nasty grinding sound. Does this sound like a motor issue or did something just come loose? Also, does the entire interior door frame have to be removed to fix this issue? Appreciate any advice!

It sounds to me like the regulator is broken. I had to replace 2 of them in my 2000 Silverado drivers side window. It was cable driven and the cable snapped both times. I was able to get a regulator without the motor for about half the price. I don't remember how much I paid, but I think it was less than $100.
