chevman383 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 hey guys, just wanted to say hi and thanks for the useful information I have found on your site. i do have a question for anyone who can answer it. my 2005 silverado crew cab is mysteriously loosing coolant. close to about 1 liter a week. there are no puddles, drips, oil level is fine and color/viscosity seems good, no sweet smells on the dip stick. only thing noticed is a smell of coolant inside the truck only once in a blue moon. i have only smelled it 3 times since owning the truck for 3 years. this is just one of the many many issues i have had, and am still having. any help would be great
txab Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Closely look over the engine compartment for leaks. Especially at the water pump and pump gaskets. Lots of time there will be no puddles left on the ground. It'll evaporate while on the engine. Sounds like you may already know about this: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluegori...nt_loss_5.3.pdf
