I got a question, why dont they stoke the 6.0 out to like a 400cid? wouldnt that be the perfect HD truck motor, ls small block with big block grunt? make it have 410-420 wlb-ft from idle to max rpm and have it peak (440-450 or even 430-440) around 2500-3000rpm backed by the 6l90? i think that would put everyone else truck to shame. even give the dmax a run for the money?

Definitly seems ridiculous that you can get a half ton with a 6.2 but not an HD..

like one of my previous threades i was curious on the next big block??

gm has had big blocks since the 60,s..right? So why stop now in 06 ending with the awesome 8.1

very curious to see what comes first .. the small diesel in a half ton or a new big block..???

It's crazy how GM keeps such a wide range of V8 displacements in production... but .2 Liter is not really a big difference... CERTAINLY not enough to get worked up over.

You'll see the 6.2L in the HDs soon. GM is doing away with the 6.0. Yes, even in the HD.

How soon? I'm wanting to pull the trigger on an 2011, but if a 6.2 were to come out in six months or so I'd be pissed!

I don't think the 6.2L is coming for the HD's.

The rumor is a direct injected 7.0L gas engine is coming when the new body style comes out in 2013. All the new gas engines for the trucks are supposed to be all new and direct injected.

I hope GM figures out a way to avoid carbon buildup issues on the valves with the new Direct Injected engines. This problem is already well documented with the Audi 2.0L DI engine.
