Seat track question

This may seem a little silly, but I just noticed today that the passengers side seat track had this little plastic guard thing on it.  Looks like it may have been designed to help keep from scraping yourself on the metal seat track.  :nono:   Then, I noticed the driver's side didn't have one.  My question is, does everyone else's truck look like this, or is there a plastic shield thingy on both sides?

The reason I noticed it was because my son's bookbag snagged on te passengers side onand broke it.  That's when I noticed the driver's side didn't have on.  No big deal though, because I may just remove it anyway if it looks like it's going to flop around and kind of get in the way.  Just curious if there's suppose to be one on each side.  Besides, I never missed the driver's side one anyway.  :uhoh:

YO TOM !..........My o1 has em' both.  Maybe they

changed the design in 2000.  Maybe used up left

over parts from the 3 door excabs ? Yours is a 99

right...4 door?

My dad just got a new xcab, 6 cyl

4x4 s-10....loaded too in black!

I have had it for a week to have a hard liner, tonneau

cover put on it.  He is using my 2500 to tow the

camper home and pull the big boat to storage.

It has buckets and a piece of plastic on the seat

track sticks out on the left side a pokes the heck

outta my left leg.  It moves with the seat and covers

NOTHING !  I wanna cut it off or remove it !  Dad

sez it bugs him too !

Anybody out there with a new S-10 notice this ?

It's a '99 3 door.  The drivers side has never been there, as far as I know and the only reason I noticed the passengers side was because it was sitting crooked when I open the door one day.

Tom,

My '99 is a 3-door w/ 40/20/40 bench seat.  I have the "guards" on both outbound tracks.  Kinda flimsey, and occasionally I catch something on them as well.

Guess manufacturing left you out!?  :nono:
