Shorty Headers

So I have some busted bolts on my exhaust manifold and I was thinking about some shorty headers while I have them off. I can't afford long tubes, so a little gain would be good. I've been looking at JBA headers, they are stainless and have 3/8 flanges and come with gaskets and bolts. Everybody always says shortys don't do anything, but when you put longtubes on you have to tune for them and what I'm thinking is, has any body done a tune after they put shorties on? JBA shows a dyno graph and it starts making more power at 3500 RPM's and the peak HP is 20, so Maybe the torque management is cutting in. The dyno also has a catback from JBA on there. My other question is that, do they have a new designed bolt that is stronger and won't break? Or should I just find something like grade 8?

I just wanna replace my cast manifolds with some stainless steel ones and some better bolts. I've heard there is an expansion joint in the passenger side manifold is this true? Because otherwise mine has a piece missing out of it. I would love to put longtubes on my truck but I just can't afford them

cant afford them either.. i got a price of almost $1000 for the long tubes for the 8.1 but i found decent shorty,s on ebay for $400+

Does anybody have an answer to stronger bolts and what the best gasket is?
