Work Truck Regular Cab 6.5 Box With V8 And 4x4

Why is it so hard to find a GMC sierra reg cab/reg box 6.5 foot in Worktruck trim with v8 and 4x4.....i mean they are around but most of the 1500 reg cabs are white 2wd with a 4.3 and long box. and the dealers usually only have a few of them....everything else is always ex/crew cab fully loaded. wich is nice but i dont have 35k+

ive been to dealers that have 50 extended and crew cabs loaded all to the gills...and maybee 4 or 5 strait box trucks. and they are always 2500hd or little six cyl 2wd in white or grey

its damn neer impossible to find the truck im discribing in red or blue thats bare bones minimum on amenities with just trailering package and AC for real hot summer days on the Interstate.

i wouldnt mind owning one and then adding all my own custom tricks to it like a leer cap(new sliding back glass) ,2 inch Leveling kit for the front, nicer wheel/tires, Alpine headunit, wheel to wheel step ups, window tint a nice custom crome grille cover......

but its damn neer impossible to find one in red or blue, they are always white wich i dont mind white, or silver which i cant stand any car or truck painted silver for some reason

i dont need power windows and carpeted floors, onstar???most worthless thing ever, Chevys stock delco radio and cd player??? Delco makes the crappiest radios, Heated Seats and mirrors??? leather i like but i always endup with saddle cloth seat covers. and GM's leather is real crappy compared to say lex or BMW, or even fords leather.

neither chevy or gmc websites even have a picture of a truck like im describing....

i emailed them very nicely inquired about it a week ago and never got a response.

i guess id have to custom order sight unseen???

My local Chevy dealer doesn't stock a single regular cab on their lot anymore. The vast majority of work trucks are going to be white longbeds as I'm sure you've found out. The 4.3 is very common but they're available with the 4.8 and 5.3 also. If you could settle for white I'm sure your search would probably be much easier...might even be able to pick up a cancelled fleet order for a reasonable price.

Here's one like you want - a red '11 4x4 W/T 4.8 shortbed. They exist.

Edit - just saw you wanted a Sierra.

The dealerships order stock that sells quickly and most people are not looking for the type of truck that you are wanting. You may have to order one in order to get the options that you want, or in your case, don't want.

Dude.I disagree somewhat with your last statement.I traded a 2010 Audi A4 with the Sport Pkg and my Silverado's leather is every bit as comfortable.

If you have been working with a good dealer, they can try to do a dealer trade for you. Have you tried to talk to the fleet sales manager at the dealer?? He would be the person that would be best able to help you than just a reegular salesman. A fleet sales manager at a dealer will return your calls and emails long before a reply from the GMC website.

Of course, ordering a truck will get you exactly what you want. But if you pick a truck that is on the lot that may have a few more accessories or a different color, you can work a better deal on that compared to ordering one. You could wind up paying the same price or even lower on a truck that is on the lot than what you would pay for a truck you have to order.

i should call the dealer to have them work with me but...if i could find one on the lot like im describing...i could see it and test drive it for a half day to make sure itsreally what i want ...i could get a loan from my credit union and just plop down my cash offer at the dealer and tell them to take it or leave it. no sales pressure no number crunching and no BS.

that Silverado posted on ebay is pretty much exactly how i want...but id prefer GMC front end/body style.....

i could live with it thou.....i also prefer the 4x4 on the floor instead of pushbutton.

not that the seats arent comfy they are...what im getting at is the leather always cracks up because the backing or padding gives too much....

get in a mercedes or lex and youll notice a difference specially one thats 4 or 5 years old...the GM will be cracking and the Lexus will look brand new. i dont know if the leather isnt as good or if its because of the super thick squishy padding?

.

If you take care of it it will not crack. I know many people with GMT-800's and the leather looks very good for the age but again they take care of it (regular condition, clean, etc)

X2

That's why I've always ordered. I get the truck I want.

The 2 GM dealers in Oshawa only have a couple of trucks similar to what the OP desires in the fall when people are looking to get a new plow truck. The rest of the year reg' cabs are scarce.

Have you tried searching thru the GM website?

uhhh these leather seats from my 2003 suburban with over 150,000 miles of wear and tear them are holding up pretty well and are extremely worn in and comfortble as the leather seats in my GMT400 GMC were really damn good too.

funny how guyys try to defend against my GM leather seat comment....look they arent horrible...but they are crapppy.

the only leather seats that are worse are put out by dodge chrystler and jeep ....everyother piece of leather ive seen covering a seat almost always has been of better quality then GM's..... recently cadillac has stepped up their game alot tho and are finally catching up.

American cars in general are known for their crappy/cheap rattley interiors...its just a fact....ive drove/rode in early 90's lexus and bmw's that had interior design and attention to detail/quality that are just now making it to GM and the rest of the american cars

i'll also add that there isnothing worse than the plastic wood trim imo...i thought they would have stopped doing that in the 90's (europe still does it too(but usually a little more better done prolly due to the price premium they charge... and it looks like crap ...

and to see it on a truck makes me want to :rollin:

i have seen some threads on the new 6 speed and 5.3 and i dont know what to think about it....i dont think its a turnoff....so if i find one like that i dont think id have a problem. but the 4.8 s 300 ftlbs is plenty for me...i only pull a small bass rig and a landscape trailer ocasionally...if i was haulin daily id get the deisel without a question.

about the 2011 gmc sierra 1500 reg cab reg bed 4x4 wt with fire red paint

there is one in indiana on ebay....the sticker is 29k or so.
