Hi Jeffy, H11 will be the bulb type for the low beams (DRL). The high beams will be 9005. You can either go with the slim or regular design, both are digital and one isn't better than the other. I would also buy the relay harness.

hey berteras, don't chop off your factory fog plug! Just in case you ever want to return back to stock (decide to sell or trade-in). What I do on all my installs is cut off the spade connectors off the HID kit, un-tape the wiring behind the factory fog light plug and use wire splice taps and connect the blue(+) wire to the purple(+) and black to brown. I don't know why DDM uses blue as positive and I dont know what GM uses purple(+) and brown(-)

Hi guys, looking to do this and just want to make sure I am getting this right. I will do 35w 6000k

I have an 09 sierra so I should order one of the H11 slimline or raptor kits right?

Now for the fog lights I should order the H16 kit correct?

Questions...

Does slimline vs reg kit make a difference?

Do I have to order two separate H11 sets if I want to do the high beams as well?

Do I need a slimline kit for the fog lights for any reason?

Do I need any additional materials?

Where have you all determined is the best place to mount those box deals that are in the wiring?

Relay harness just guarentees a constant 12v source and is a common solution to flickering HID lights. I have found them not to be necessary in 99% of our trucks.

You need to remove the DRL fuse on the newer trucks because the DRL is the same bulb as the low beams, and 1. you dont want them to be on all the time as they will burn out unnecessarily fast, and 2. they will not be provided with the proper voltage while being powered as the DRL and will flicker and burn out prematurely

Im the one that recommended the relay harness. It can't hurt to have one? The only reason I did was I have problems of the HIDs not coming on (DDM slim ballast). I received the harness Wednesday but haven't installed it. Im going to give this a try first, before I send the HID kit back to DDM.

Matt, do you think the relay harness will help me?

I already cut off the plugs. If I ever want to get rid of the truck I will just resplice the plugs back on, basically the same thing as putting a half-tap on there. Also my truck had a purple wire and a black one for the fogs, no brown wire. Thanks though

Thanks for the info everyone. Not sure why everyone is talking about citting wires, I thought this was plug and play. I'm sure I'll find out when i get to the installing.

These seem to be crazy INexpensive, I looked at SpencerHIDs and they are like 150 bucks, why are these so cheap? Does anyone recommend going with a different brand?

Well, Im guess im one of those 1% that needed a relay harness?

Just to give you guys an update:

I got the relay harness on last night and so far so good. Every time I turn on the headlights I'd get the HIDs to come on. Before I put the relay harness, 40% of the time they wouldn't come on.

On a side-note, GM only has one 20amp fuse for low beams (#16 on the fuse block). I would think both low beam headlights would be powered on different circuits? Perhaps its a good ideal to have the relay harness with HIDs.

I finished installing my DDM kits a few days ago.... I'm very pleased.

They're really white & bright as fack! (i got 5000k.. alot of people in town have 6000k.. too blue for me)

i had 6k in my lows and fogs when i first bought my truck. they slowly started melting my fog harness. Maybe i should order 4 from ddm!?

I will get 5k this time and has anyone had a foglight melting issue on the gmt900s???

Is there any plug and play HID fog light kit? It seems like everyone has to cut their plugs, i really dont want to hack into a new truck by cutting and splicing in a new plug to make it work

The male end supplied by DDM is slightly wider than the factory harness will accept (maybe 1 mm too wide). You could easily file them down & make them fit properly, maintaining the plug-n-play.

I was in the parking lot at my work so I just cut to save time.

anyways, im glad to hear the relay harness worked for you up there buddy, like i said, i rarely find it to be necessary on our trucks, however if you did not remove your DRL fuse then you would be experiencing those issues for sure as the DRL voltage is not enough to ignite the ballasts properly, youre lucky you didn't damage your kit!

and almost every DDM kit is plug and play, however certain models do have different female connectors. Unforunately it seems that our h16 fogs are a little thinner than the spade connectors. Like said previously, just shave down the spade connector if you're worried about saving your plug!

and lastly (i think) DDM kits are so cheap because we cut out the middle man! Not much to be worried about with a lifetime warranty on EVERYTHING! Enjoy!
