Hid Lights

What are the good brands out there? Any issues with the conversion kits out there? I’ve read on here most of the HID lights threads and I like what I read/see. Im thinking about 35w 6000k or should I spend the extra money for 50w 6000k kit? Can u really tell a difference between 35w and 50w?

yes you can tell the diff. don't do the 50w, they're like having the sun for headlights, everyone will hate you. and you have more chance of them melting the housing. the 35w are bright enough.

Dont buy vvme. The hi/lo kit in my explorer is from them and from the beginning one ballast was shot and within the first three months I replaced everything on that kit one piece at a time. I think the only part I dont was one bulb

a 35w should be fine. but i think the gmt 900 trucks have a weird size bulb making it hard to find an hid for it

Really, I didn't have trouble ordering mine. I used the sylvania replacement bulb guide and cross reference it to the H11 Kit. I called DDM just to make sure it was the right kit I needed for the low beams. For now im only going to replace the low beams and see how I like them, I might get the fog lights next.

I got my 12k off ebay for 35 bucks, and since i do most of my driving in the dusk they work awesome. I could tell the difference in these as to the sylvania silverstars (what i had before i switched). I believe i have the 35w.. I havent gotten pulled over and noone flashes me because they are too bright.

12k are basically purple and emit no light, all the 12k hids ive seen anyway, and theyre likely to get you pulled over and hassled by a cop whos feeling saucy for you having a red forward facing light

my comment about the fogs on the gmt900s was based on what i read here wher ea handful of people were having an issue finding an hid bulb for it. but as stated above the h11 fits so thats the option right there.

12K ?!

That's pretty purple, do they look good? No offence meant

I have 6K 35W on my silverado, and love them to death. Can't speak for the bulb size though, my truck is a generation older than your guys.

Not purple it's in my pics to prove, and it gives better light then the sylvania silverstars. I drive from 330 am to 530 am daily and my hids are about as bright as my brights so it does emit plenty of light.
