hey all............saying hi to a new forum. been doing some lurking here and am impressed by the info here. i am a HUGE bow tie fan. when i was lookin at the newest truck i just bought, the sales guy was saying "you really need to take this truck for a drive, you will just fall in love with it" i told him i bleed bow tie so there is no need to sell me on the truck, just the price.

i have a pretty good collection, my fav is my hauler, a '96 chev one ton crew cab dually. its got the 7.4, functional ram air hood, shift kit and a 3" magnaflow cat back.

Welcome to the site. The 6 ltr blows the doors off that 7.4 right?

thanks for the welcome. i havent made a desision on that yet. have yet to put the trailer with the jeep on it behind the truck. i do feel the trany could do with some shift firmnes changes. first impressions are good though. when i picked up the truck from the dealership, the lot was still in the rear-view mirror............... and i got a speeding ticket

True, they do come with all kinds of nannies from the factory. With a tune, it'll be a whole other truck, best money I ever spent on mine.....performance wise. A speeding ticket on new truck day is like rain at a wedding. It's not exactly a towing monster, though. The 454 will probably handle a load a little better.

itt will be nice when i just want to use the trailer, i wont have to dig out the big guy though. its why i chose the MAX. I could still haul a decint load with it. in all its leather goodness too.

The max is still a half ton, just with an upgraded drivetrain(tranny, engine, rear end gears, etc.). I wouldn't suggest hauling that camper on the half ton. I'm sure you don't plan to though. Your max is a 4wd, right? Because they actually made a couple 2wd, that would be a killer speed combo there......for a truck anyway.

lol nope, camper will never see the 1/2 ton. and yes, its a 4x4. thats prety much standard in these parts. i would put money down that you would not find a 2wd truck on a lot here in town.

ha ha. i really want to do a magnaflow on this truck too, the 6l does have a sweet rumble to it, even with factory exhaust.
