Engine Oil Life Monitor Reset, Yes I Searched

This is the 1st time I've heard of the door being open or closed during the reset process.

 

I've had 2 trucks w/ the OLS since 2000 & never had any problems resetting. Check the owners manual.

This forum is great. My 2001 Yukon (296,000 miles) just started this problem. The last couple of oil changes I have had to open the door to get it to reset. I never did in the pervious 50 oil changes. I would have never have figured it ou without 2001Silverado364 s help.

I'm not sure about the Yukon but on my '02 Camaro and '03 Silverado holding the trip reset in for a prolonged period would reset the oil life as well.

 

The Camaro system is different, on my 04 Tahoe, I had to have the key in the "run" position, and pump the accelerator 3 times to reset.
