i bought a back up camera, mainly for when the wife drives it as was discussed in a previous post she drives by brail some days. the screen is 3.5 inchs and has a little leg that attaches to any flat surface. at first i thought about mounting it just above the mirror but it doesnt quite fit in there, so plan b was to mount it infonrt of the little storage hole between the 2 12v power plugs. but then i get into running the wires so that its a clean install, im thinking of just drilling a small hole in the back and feeding the wires through there, if i do that would i run into any kind of electronics or other such obstructions or is it pretty open back there? again thats the lowest storage compartment on a 06 sierra just between the 2 12v power plugs.

when your drilling the hole put a socket over the drill bit so you can only see about a 1/4 inch of the drill bit at the end of the socket there might be an electrical connector plugged into the back of the plastic cover but you would still need to remove this panel to route the wires/cables

thats a good tip thanks ill use tht so i dont get too deep. as for the panel i plan on fishing the wire through with a coat hanger, push it through, tape the wires to it, pull it back out. :P
