(iPhone 4 will only let me post in Fast Reply box.. that's why original post is smiley face)

I would like my cargo light to come on when I shift to reverse.

Anyone (successfully) attempt this mod yet?

A few people mentioned it in 'Cargo Light Switch' thread but no one ever followed up with results...

oooohhh interesting idea. hopefully someone has some answers....

i guess the easy way would be to see if there are any cargo light & reverse light fuses in the underhood fuse box. then you could just jump the fuses.....

Yeah, def bad idea! It's probably going to take someone with knowledge of the GMT-900 wiring diagrams. Are you out there...? haha

It could be done, if you read the cargo light mod you mention you will see you can pull the wire for the light from the MBEC. Next you would need to pick up a reverse signal, it is also available there, I know it is a blue wire I will have to look at my truck to remember what cavity it is in. Lastly power, look at the RAP thread it will tell you where power is. Put it all together with a fuse and relay and you would be good. My question would be why? This is going to make your lighting worse for backing up as won't see past the light bed.

Agreed. If you want more light when reversing, get an LED tailgate light bar with reverse lights and/or brighter reverse lights (LED, SilverStar, etc).

Just do the cargo light standalone switch mod for gmt-900s and be done with it. Then you can have the best of both worlds with a switch.

Any hints as to where to find this ? I used the 'search' function and it only displays this thread. ;)
