Oxygene Sensor Problem ?

Hi,

I replaced the spark plugs on my 1997 Tahoe (5.7l) last weekend and noticed that the spark plugs of bank 1 (cylinder 1,3,5,7) are pitch-black but those of bank 2 were just looking fine (brownish). I guess this would be caused by bad oxygene sensor(s) of the affected bank. A couple weeks ago I got DTC P0141 which would indicate a failing downstream sensor of bank 1.

Besides of this or a failing catalytic converter, do you have any additional ideas what could cause the different spark plug looks between bank1 and 2 ?

Thanks,

Oliver
