Remove the starter & that little shield behind it, then go in through there. You'll have to rotate the engine until one of them comes into view. Repeat until they're all removed.

I've not done anything this new but if you don,t know this, which is likely not the hardest part, are you sure this is a job for you? There should be axcess at the bottom frt of the trans.

You do know that the converter has to come off and back on with the transmission. I've heard of people try to bolt the converter on then install the trans. Just be sure the converter is fully seated in the frt pump on reinstall.

I wasn't sure if there was still an inspecction cover or not. I thought they still went together pretty much as they used to and something would come off for access.

My last transmission project was in 1987. A 1980 sb pickup. Swapped a worn out 3 on the tree for a TH 350.

Armando, it sounds like you might be better prepared than I wanted to give you credit for.

i have a story about ^^^^^ when i was a tranny guy up north.

this guy needed a tranny and buys a GM tranny over the counter, fine and dandy,he takes it home and puts it in low and behold it does not turn a tire,

so on the hook to the dealer and of course i get it ,i yard out the 4l60 and tear it down and the pump is just busted in a million pieces .

we think he put the tcase on the tranny first and put up the t case end up over the crossmember and the torque converter fell of and so he just thru it on,drew the tranny to the block and destroyed his pump,

after it was all fixed he spent $2400,for the tranny initially and $2000 more to get the truck to move down the street.

and so the moral is .............ya cant always save a buck when your stupid !!!

i found a rag between and t case and a tranny (new) and it blew up in 30K km after the rag disintigrated and went in the tranny thru the little drain hole from the adaptor, pluged the filter, lmao, cause when you lower the tranny to put the tcase on,oil comes out of the new tranny,

crazy,
