Lowering Rear End To Level With Front End?

Recommended Posts

I know there is kits to raise the front to match the rear, but how do you lower the rear to match the front end? Would there be an MPG advantages to lowering the rear to be level with the front?

Raising the front to match the rear does look really good, I imagine the reduced aerodynamics mean less MPG.

I did a search and couldn't find anything.

Please do not lower the rear to match the front. There is no MPG benefit to making the front and rear level anyway. If you don't like the stock rake do the rough country 2" front level kit. If anything raise the front a little to match the rear. Here is mine with the front RC 2" level kit before I added the lifted rear block (I tow and level before towing makes no sense unless you want to airbag and I didn't). In person it looked closer to level than the pic shows.

if your'e dead set on lowering the back end you can simply remove the rear blocks under the leaf springs and it should give you a fairly level stance. just make sure your u-bolts are the right length afterwards and have enough threads to tighten properly

There won't be a noticeable MPG difference between stock, or either type of leveled.

You can drop the rear 1.25" by removing the block between the axle and leaf springs, and you can add 2" drop shackles (about $40) to get it to sit completely level.
