Bigger Tires-18" Stock Rims

Hello All,

I never post that much on this forum and I know this has been previously asked, but I just wanted to get a final ruling on an item. I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab with 18" stock rims. I also have a readylift 2.25" leveling kit. On Readylift's website it says the largest tires I can fit are 33"x11.5" which are converted to 285/65/18. Does anyone know if I can fit a larger tire without rubbing? Has anyone ever put a larger tire on this same truck and not rubbed? If so, what size? I would like to put Mickey Thompson ATZ's or BFG AT's. I hear these are the longest lasting, best AT's out there. Any thoughts?

I would really appreciate some input, so thanks in advance.

Ok I have narrowed down my search.

Mickey Thompson:

275/70/R18 (33.2" x 10.8")

or

305/60/R18 (32.4" x 12.0")

BFG AT KO:

275/70/R18 (33.2" x 10.8")

285/65/R18 (32.6" x 11.2")

I haven't seen a post on here, but can I fit the 305's with just the Readylift kit? I saw the earlier post that 295's could fit, so I am assuming that 275's and 285's won't be a problem. Please help! I'm stuck and nervous about ordering these tires.

Those are my 295s, they're close to rubbing, but I have zero trimming and a 2.5" kit. 305s are actually shorter by more than a half inch, they're just wider. I've seen 305s on the 18s. So I know it can be done, I just don't know the amount of trimming that was required or how much rub he had. But if you truly want the 305s, order them. You just might have to do some trimming and beating.

Personally I like the taller than wider tires, but I think a 275 is too narrow. But, the 285 is too short in a bfg for me.

EDIT: when I say they're close to rubbing, I mean at full lock with a little incline. But they still clear.

You said you have a 2.5" level kit, I have the RC 2" kit. Would I be able to fit the 295's or would I have to stick to the 285's on mine because of the 2" kit?
