"A reliable source wrote that the Toluca, Mexico plant, which made Neons and PT Cruisers, has started production of U.S.-specification Fiat 500s and 2011 Dodge Journeys."

Some may kick, scream, and curse but the small car will be in your driveway sometime in the not to distant future.

Will the Fiat 500 or the Ford Fiesta be in your driveway first?

he way the fiat looks, the fiesta would be the first, but the good things is that im 6,3 and 280 pounds so i won't be siting in a little car anytime soon,

I saw three Fiat 500s the other day driving down 69 coming from flint. They aren't bad looking little cars. I don't think I would ever own one, but they are nicer to look at than the Smart cars.

The Fiat...if I was forced to choose.

The Fiesta looks absolutely awful...and I don't like how Ford cheapened it over the Euro version.

I think nearly every manufacturer does this though (aside from the Euro brands maybe) because most folks aren't ready to spend $25k+ on a small car. I know I'm not.

Do you think that retaining the projector-beam headlights, proper fog lights, and suspension settings would have really pushed the car that high?

The options can push that tin-can that high...but it would probably cost Ford less to create only ONE front fascia, one set of headlights, and one set of fog lights (the glow-stick with some tin foil is a sad, stupid excuse for a fog light).

But even if Ford managed to get the exterior right, the interior is a total mess. It's terrible. The Fiesta, like all of Ford's recent appliances, is an exercise in compromise. And that does not appeal to me.

I felt the same way when I saw the Regal we got here in the US- the one I read about that was sold overseas had a manual trans, sport seats, AWD and more power than the car we got. Instead we got a watered down front driver- the exact reason I ended up in my Subaru. The Buick would've been more but I would've saved up for the overseas spec car.

That is the VXR model. Yes...that should be our GS.

But at least our Regal has projector headlights and proper fog lights. It even looks good to boot.

It does look great, I'll agree there for sure but it doesn't have the punch to back it up and it's still selling in the mid 30s like people projected the VXR/whatever it'd be called here to sell for.
