Whirring Noise After Diff Rebuild

I had all of the bearings and seals replaced in the front differential on my '02 Yukon Denali this week and the repair addressed most of the front end noise I was experiencing. However, I'm still getting a whirring noise which is particularly noticeable between 30-40 mph and present up to highway speeds. The noise will quiet down when I leave off the gas but doesn't completely go away. The work was completed at the local GMC dealer using all GM parts with the following items replaced (quantity and part numbers noted):

(2) 15588312 Lock Diff

(2) 26041515 W-Bearing

(2) 12470318 Adjuster

(2) 9420095 Bearing

(1) 9413427 Brg Asm-R

(1) 12471590 Seal

(1) 12479162 Spacer

(1) 9418356 Bearing

 

I replaced both front wheel hubs and all three driveshaft u-joints this summer. Is there a potential issue with the differential work or should I look at something else? The truck has 141k miles on it.

i would take it back and have them check it. sounds like the gears were not set up right.

sounds like they didn't set the gears with the proper amount of backlash. Very common. Take it back, before its too late..
