Onstar App + Remote Start

I bought a 2011 Tahoe and downloaded the Onstar App, which works great. I went to the dealership to have them install the factory remote start and was told that it would update Onstar, which it hasn't. Anyone know how to get Onstar updated with the remote start feature to be associated with my Tahoe?

If you find a solution, I'd like to know. Did the exact thing as you and when I spoke with the Onstar advisor I was told it would only work if the remote start came installed for the factory.

I just did the same thing and my remote start will not work with the OnStar App. Onstar was telling me that I don't have the proper RPO codes listed to support the feature. Hopefully we can get this figured out since its the only reason I paid to have the factory one activated.

So I have been making a lot of phone calls trying to figure this out. GM recognizes that code AP3 is active on my vehicle. Onstar however has not been updated with the addition of this RPO on my VIN.

GM says it's an Onstar problem.

Onstar says that I don't have an auto-start in the vehicle....Onstar says you have to have either AP3 or BTV, which I do indeed have AP3 but it wasn't "factory installed" meaning apart of my build sheet.

They put in a request for a Level 2 technician to call me and said it would take about a week. We'll see what happens unless someone else has some insight.

I have a '10 GMC Sierra and am hoping the On-Star will somehow make the app available with some sort of retro-fit or re-programming option!!~

damn i got the app on my phone and is wanting me to log on.

Once you log on, it will give you an error message stating your vehicle is not supported.

I would love for this to work on my 07! I looked at buying the viper system but its like $400.

I had a Python in my 2003 GMC Sierra and it was 100%. But I was never a big fan of almost 40 wire splices to install it.

I'm having the same problem. I have made all the phone calls I can make but nothing is working, i just get onstar representatives that tell me it had to have the "convenience package" on the truck to work.
