Service Notes On Dic

Recommended Posts

i live in CT and since the first Giant snow we got ive been getting intermittent warnings on my dash board saying service traction control and service stabilitrak. Also during this time the traction control light is on as well as ABS and none of these things work. I park the truck for a while and go back to it and they are gone. Everything works fine. Today my DIC also said service 4wd and i couldnt get it out of 4hi. When i parked and came back to it all the warnings were gone and the i was able to get back to 2wd. I did get the service 4wd once last winter and it went away never to be seen again.

some background. just before winter i got new wheels and tires and did the zone 3.5 kit. Is there anything i could have done to cause this?

What should i be checking to make these warnigns go away? or should i just go to the dealer?

anyone else experience this?

Also are these thigns covered under the general warantee or the 100,000 mile drive train warantee? Cus im just about at 35k.

I have had all those lights come on too when I was offroad once. I unpugged the battery and reset everything and never had them on again. I think the system just gets overwhelmed sometimes.

The sevice 4wd is more common and I think it is due to mositure. Mine has come on in the rain before too. Many other members have had this problem also.

The leveling kit and body lift shouldn't have anything to do with this.

If you installed larger tires and wheels on a vehicle equipped with stability control, you will cause system problems sooner or later. Have the vehicle scanned for dtcs and see what comes up.

Aftermarket programming can cause the same issue also.

Well i tried unplugging the battery and it worked for about 5 minutes before the lights came back on and i lost abs, traction control and stabilitrak function. the 4wd light has not come back and my 4wd works perfectly.

going to the dealer in the morning.

Had the same problem aftermarket wheels and a programmer. The programmer can cause lots of issues. Turned the truck off and back on. Everything was better

Sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor. Had the exact same symptoms and that was what was wrong in my situation.

Same, my truck had the same symptoms, messages would come and go. ended up being a bad sensor in the right rear wheel, dealer replaced under warranty

Well guys, mine was caused by a bad hub in the front driver side wheel. They replaced under warranty. We will see if it stays gone, but i had a 30 minute drive back with no issues.
