buckschatz Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 so ive got an 08 chevy w/ a 4.8l v8 that ive been messin with since i got it and so far ive added a k&n cod intake, edelbrock shorty headers a bully dog programmer... basically short of throwing on a supercharger what can i do to put some more power in my truck and whats the best gear ratio to be running (performance wise) on 34 inch tires...
Stevens03 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Nothing short of 4.56's in my opinion. The 4.8 lacks the torque of the 5.3 and the little extra with the 4.56's would give the 4.8 the edge. Also a little higher stall converter would do wonders.
buckschatz Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 kk cool already changed the gears and saw some big changes... and a stall converter? how would i match that up to my engine? and how easy is that to install?
[email protected] Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 A cam and a stall will really get you some good power. I'd say at least a 3200 stall.
renegadeking Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 a cam will surely help. you should have saved you money on the short tube and bought LT headers. short tube don't help. once all of your mods are done, buy a custom tune. best bang for the buck and it will wrap everything together.
