I want to put a 7'6" plow on my '07 Silverado with a 5.3l

What do you guys think? I want to do driveways and small parking lots.

So what im asking is what do you guys think? Is it worth it? Will it kill the truck?

I would love to put one on my 1500 , but IMO the front end is not strong enough. A guy i know has a brand new 2500 , and still the front end is so weak with his westin plow that they had to put helper springs in the front he said.

There are many people that do put plows on there 1500's , but it is not recommended. Also you have to pay attn to your charging system. Bigger alternator , etc,.

it's fine. most of the time people put a level kit in for clearance because most mounts hang very low. the truck handles it just fine and i have been using half ton trucks with a plow for years. if you are going to do it yourself then just be easy when shifting from forward to reverse and vise versa and all should be well. get one designed for a half ton truck. i like the Western HTS, mine has been a beast so far. but any brand you like that has one specified for your truck will do the job. some have better controls, mounts and other features but the basic idea is the same. the best idea is to get what your local dealer is used to and sells on a regular basis. nothing worse then dealing with warranty on a product that the dealer is unfamiliar with.

good luck.
