Rim Offset?

I am looking at putting a set of XD Series Hoss rims on my 2007 Silverado NBS. I have recently upgraded to the Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/60/20. I had to put level kit on to eliminate minor rub. My question is this...I have no idea about offset and what it means. I would like the wheels/tires to stick out from the truck a little, but not if it's going to mean the rub coming back. What kind of offset should I look for to accomplish this goal. Or am I stuck with the factory offset? Which is what by the way. I currently have the stock Texas Edition 20" rims on.

Offset is where the hub sits in relation to the center of the wheel.

Factory is 20x8.5 with +31 offset. So the hub sits pretty far to the outside of the wheel (no lip or dish to the wheels)

Most have good luck running a 9" wide wheel and +18 with little to no rub. They will stick out more than factory but still inside the fenders.

Negative offset gives the truck a mean look and puts the tires outside the fenders. -12 offset normally rubs bad on these trucks because of the square shaped fenders.

good info...thanks. I wonder if anyone has run a 20x9 with a zero offset, and is there any rub with that. I'm seeing the XD series Hoss in +30, +18, 0, -6, and -12. Since it would appear that the -12 is a no-go, has anyone ran a 0 offset on a 20x9, and whats the rub situation. Keep in mind i have the RC 2" level on so that should help. Any help appreciated.

That would stick out past the fender about an inch or so, as far as rubbing I'm not really sure but some people on here run that setup and should be able to answer that question.

my dad has a set of 18" centerlines with a +6 offset and they stick out slightly but only rub on the mudflap screws.

Do you wana keep your tires?? I would get those wheels and go with 305/50/20s with the +18 offset it will look awesome

Yes, they will still rub just a little. Very minor though.

Pretty sure I'm going to go with the +18 off set. Ill keep my fingers crossed on the rub not coming back. I may live to regret this, but I want it to come out just a bit and the rim to look a little deeper. I will post pics when its done. Ordering them tomorrow. should be on by next week. Maganflow exhaust and Dominator rails are next.
