Debadging 2500hd?

Just wondering if anyone has taken off the "Vortec" badge off the hood inserts during their debadging ventures. Is it a clean removal? Or is there like a cut-out or something behind it?

Thanks, in advance!

To me it doesn't look like it is a "stick on item", looks like it might be a clip of some sort. I guess you could go to your GM parts counter, ask for a hood vent and take a look at it to see how it is held on.

Yes there are two clips that fit into holes in the vent thing. Removal would leave two horizontal holes, about half inch long each.

Ahhh... Well, there ya have it. Glad I hadn't tried taking them off yet... Funny that the emblems on the sides of the truck are all simply stuck on yet the two little ones on the hood are actually tabbed. Go figure...

Thanks for the info!

Just out of curiosity, what do you call those black plastic hood things anyway? Scoops? Vents? Worthless?

Worthless too. Why make a bunch of little holes in them if they are closed off? Stupid GM.

Ben thinking about taking my emblems on my door off how did you guys get them off just pull?

Dental floss, a heat gun and patience!

heat up the beginning of the emblem, be careful not to make it too hot, or hold the heat gun too close to the paint. Take the floss, and "saw" back and forth between the door and the emblem.

Dental floss is a big pain in the a$$... I've used it before and it breaks every five seconds. Your better bet is to substitute the floss for a thicker fishing line. Use it exactly the same and you can get away with using one length of it instead of a whole package of floss.
