Sad News

I was getting on the freeway and there were two lanes for the onramp.

I was in the right lane and I noticed a newer Toyota Corrola starting to pass me on the left to get on before me, so I floored it.

I figured I had a 5.3 V8, this baby will blow the doors off that little Toyota.

Sorry to say, with my foot all the way to the floor, after 75 yards I barely got ahead of the car with no room to spare. I think he slowed down so I could get ahead of him.

I guess the stock V8 is not much more powerful as a little Toyota.

Oh, well, I know now not to try and race little foreign cars.

Sounds pretty sad...you dont need a tune you need to get it looked at asap.My 5.3L is fast without a tune.Smoked a 94 cobra,1 gen lightning,2 gen lightning,almost pulled a harely.Its only got a drop in k&n and custom exhaust its quick already.

big difference between our 99-02 and 03+ then the 07+, my 6.0 had no problem burning them off from the factory, but these newer have a lot of TM and whatnot.

Its the programming of the GMT900 not the actual 5.3L.

100,000 Powertrain warrenty = Lots and lots of Torque Management

power has nothing to do with it, you are pulling a near 8,000 pound whale vs a 2200 pound ricer burner..

take a 90 pound weakling and a 250 pound muscled up weight lifter, give the weakling a 25 pound sack and have him throw it, then have the weight lifter throw a sack 4 times heavier (100 pounds) who do you think is going to throw it further?

You sure ANY of the drivers in/on those vehicles were actually racing you? My 5.3 is quick to me, but I know for a fact it wouldnt take on ANY of those vehicles you listed. Just my opinion.
