if you don't want a permanent setup I would suggest looking into something like this:

there are a variety of others at target/walmart as well with a pretty diverse price range:

they clip onto the headrest, you will need wired headphones, they have aux input jacks so if you can add one of these all-in-one game consoles if the kids get bored with movies.

We just finished a long trip with our kids and I took my laptop and a power inverter. My dell fits between the front two seats. The kids watched movies most of the 14hours it took each way. That was also a plus because I used the laptop for internet while at the resort. I couldn't see buying anything to play movies when the laptop was available.

I like the idea of the head rest. I am not to king on the external tv that has wires hanging every where. With a three year old he will make it a personal objective to rip one of the wires out. Also what about one of the ones that mount on the roof. Has anyone installed one on a gmt-900?

I think there was an option for a rear seat entertainment that was mounted to the roof. I'll see if I can find anything about it as an addon after the fact.
