No New Truck For Me

Well the truck I ordered came in Tuesday. They drug their feet with the financing after I talked to them. They were supposed to call me back on Wednesday.

I called them back on Friday and they tried the we are still talking to the Ally bit which means they never called them back. (I work for a motorcycle dealership and I know how the banks work). So I tell him I am no longer interested. He calls me back 20 minutes later and offers the deal I would have agreed to on Wendsday. But it's to late if I have to remind you to do your job 2 days later and start changing the amount down 3 times in one conversation.

So I tell him he has to give me supplier discount now or there is no deal. He says we can't do that and I have to go through human resources at work. I told him he can do it. I have seen it done before. But he insists they can't. I think he's not willing do the work and afraid to ask his boss.

So I know where there is a 6.2 extended cab LTZ with Z71 and nav just sitting now.

You are so right that one of the main problems with this country is that too many people don't do their jobs, especially when it comes to dealing with customers. They just don't "cultivate" their sales field anymore. Where is that little book full of names and addresses that every good car salesman used to keep right by his heart. Oh, how the world has changed.

Where's my paycheck?

Actuallly, what I've been reading lately is that you can get better than Supplier Pricing these days...supplier discounts in my area is only about $2,000 or so below MSRP

I had a salesman in my hometown tell me there were NO 6.2L 4x4 CCSB gmc's in FL. I was already on the internet and knew there was one on the east coast. No I asked him if he was sure. He said yep. Then he tried to sell me a truck on his lot.

Needless to say I left his dealership, drove 2 hours one way and returned home with my new truck.

Look at it this way...you just saved yourself thousands of dollars

You have an 09 Ext cab...why an '11??

Blue instead of black, 6.2 instead of 5.3 and Nav. Remember I ordered this one. So it's exactly what I want.

Sorry to hear about the truck. I like you Busa. I have an 01.

Thanks. But the Busa is gone. Between 2009 and 2010 I lost my interest in riding completly.

Good, fu#k him. Sucks you didn't get your brand new loaded truck but I'm sure they'll call in a few hours so you might still get your deal. A few years ago when I was buying my first vehicle on my own we were $400 apart on a $6900 truck. After getting there from a $7995 sticker he wouldnt budge. I walked out. As Im turning out of the dealership he runs out, taps on my window and says meet me halfway.... we had a deal. If they REALLY wanted to sell you the truck they would've had it prepped off the trailer and ready for you Wednesday at the latest, good luck either way man.

So true. People just don't give a damn anymore. You'd think in this economy you might see some more effort but American work ethic ain't what it used to be. Being 24 I see it every day, too many lazy, sissy-ass punks who have never even heard of a 12 hour day. Not all, but most and some of you old guys aren't exactly angels either. Its a scary trend. Anyway sorry for the rant but it's late (or early?) so best of luck to the OP, hope you get your new truck

Well, I say good for you. Stick to your guns. When I ordered, if the deal was anything less than I expected, I would have walked too.

Hope it works out for you in the end, but if not... You already have a nice truck :)

When I bought my wife's Malibu in November I wanted the car plated in Illinois. They told me no problem, I'd pay the IL tax (which would be financed into the vehicle like I've always done). Again, no problem. Before I signed the papers they told me I'd have to pay the difference between AZ and IL tax out of pocket. I told them I wouldn't do that. It wasn't about about the money at all, just that they had screwed up by not knowing state law. I asked them why I couldn't do it like I had in the past when I'd bought my '02 Sierra in New Mexico. They said that AZ didn't work that way. Well then...."you'll just have to eat the difference" I told them. They wouldn't do it. I thought they were kidding. So I told them I was going to another local Chevy dealer, later. We no sooner get to the parking lot and he says they'll do it.

WTF!?! Are dealers, especially GM dealers, not wanting to impress us as customers, who've bought GM vehicles for years???? Sorry for the rant but,

:)

I really hope you get your truck.

If it didn't have nav, I'd take it.
