On a two hour drive going 70 mph, i was recording 19.4 from start to finish with one stop at a convenience store. Only thing after market on my truck is Magnaflow exhaust. 5.3l/4spd/3.73

List your best MPG and what mods you have done if any. Also list motor/tranny/gears.

Thanks!

My best was 19.6 (totally stock CC/5.3/4spd/3.73), but that trip was made @ 65 mph, was about 4 hrs of highway driving (~ 220 miles), and you have to include about 25 miles of low speed 4 wheeling, with a few WOT blasts on a dirt road to test the traction control out.

On my most recent trip back to Albuqueruque, averaged about 18 going about 75 the entire way. On the way back, for the first 4 hours I averaged 24 MPG but the wind was pushing me as it was blowing pretty good. After that, it got worse for the next 1300 miles.

How do you get those kinds of numbers? I typically get 14.5mpg. The best I've seen is 18.9 but that was with a serious tail wind.

I have the 4.8 with automatic.

I have a 2'' RC levelling kit and I have removed the front valence. Someone told me that removing my valence would hurt my fuel economy. Is that true and how much do you think it affects it?

I am about to put on my 3'' rear lift blocks that will give me back my factory-like rake. Will that improve my mpg?

My daily drive to work at the mine is around 22 miles of 45-55mph two lane roads. I average 18.5-19.4 mpg driving normally. At my old job 10 miles of 75mph interstate driving I averaged 15-16mpg. Best was a 4 hour trip @ 65mph on I68-70 to Baltimore that averaged 20.5ish unloaded. Truck in sig..

The best i have got on the highway is about 17.5-18 according to the DIC, this was on a calm day driving around 65. This was pure highway with no stops, stopping kills milage.

I get 16.5 all the time. Never know where the wind is blowing from here in Oklahoma, and the highways aren't too flat either.

I got a question concernign fuel economy, my truck is brand new and only have 1000km on it, is it normal that it uses more fuel. I get aroung 12-13 mpg now

In my work truck (05 duramax) got 29.3mpg on a one way trip of 274 miles. Tailwind was blowing about 35 mph with higher gusts and was driving 55-65 split about evenly. Next best was 19.8 mpg. Personal truck best was 19.2 with a 20 mph tailwind. Mods are Airraid intake, gibson catback and Diablo tuner.

Hand calc. No DIC. I have not once broken 15.3 mpg! Break'in period my ^ss. I'm at 22,300 miles and still haven't been able to pull at least 17 mpg. 89 octane, 40 mile rd/trp daily commute, 55 mph 99% of the way with a 70mph for 4 miles. That's all and this AFM is suckin eggs. I'm mad every time i pull in to fill up. Is it the 10% ethanol, do i need to run 91 octane? Maybe pull the neg cable over night, in hopes of reseting something? :( I kind of wish I had a diesel or at least ol blue back. it ran 20mpg on 20" chromes.
