well had a headlight go out on me yesterday...just wondering if the silverstars or whatever else you can buy in crappy tire are better than factory? or any aftermarket bulb that will be better than factory without going thorugh to much trouble. orrr am i just better off replacing the one bulb with a factory bulb.

I have the silverstars in my high beams and hid's in my lows. The silverstars i've always been happy with i think they are a huge improvement on the stock lights and much better deal then PIAA's. HID's really are the way to go though they are just usually more money. Lots of kits on EBAY if you can find a trustworthy one. I bought my HID kit locally though for $110 for lows and been happy with them.

Dave, how much better are these replacement bulbs you have listed compared to the stock bulbs? I've never been too happy with the stock bulb performance and I've been thinking about some sort of upgrade to improve them.

I think you are a little sideways on the what bulbs they are, 07 up is H11 low and 9005 high...

I put Hella Xenon Blue bulbs in mine and they are fantastic, best bulbs I have ever had and are rated for decent life, 550hr low and 1500hr high, lots of high outputs are only rated for 300 or less.

Yes i know stock is h11 and 9005. H9 will work in the h11 spot with a minor modification to the h9 bulb connector and base, you have to cut a small amount of plastic out of the connector and snip a bit of metal of the base so it will fit. Ive done it to mine. H11 lumen = 1350, H9 lumen = 2100. Quite the difference after you do the mod. As for the 9005 all you have to do is cut a small amount of plastic of the base again, even less work then the previous mod. No wiring harnesses are need to cutting any wires everything is plug and play. Like i said ive done this myself and there is a pretty good difference. 9005 lumen = 1700, 9011 Toshiba lumen = 2350.

Please Dont waste your money on silverstars or any other blue tinted bulb. All they are doing is filtering out usable light and overloading the bulb to compensate. That is why Silverstars only last a little over a year or less

yes its a 65watt bulb, and it ends up only being a 1amp diffrence between the stock 55watt. There are many articles about this and a few are even on these boards. The stock wiring is more then enough to handle the tiny increase and even if your not happy with that you can buy a upgraded wiring harness for about 20$ that comes with ceramic connectors and 14 guage wire like the one i have which is this one

If your not comfortable with this mod then don't do it. I've had it on for about 4 months now and i use my lights every day for about an hour or more. If your satisfied with spending your money on an overloaded silverstar bulb with a cheap blue tint on it that last a year if your lucky then go for it but im offering a better alternative. Just do a little google searching if you don't believe me, trust me i've researched the crap out of this before i did it and wouldn't have install them if i wasn't comfortable.

All I am saying is that you should point out to people there is a lot more to what you recommended than just simple plug and play. You sound like you are one of the followers of that guy who writes long winded "articles" on lights with no scientific basis to his claims and I believe he is affiliated with that candlepower.com, the guy is a joke and most people know it.

Like i said if your not comfortable with it don't do it. I've had good results as well as many other people and as of yet haven't heard a negative report from anyone or had anything negative happen to me. Have fun wasting your money but i think ill stick to something with actual gains.
