Fuel Filter On A Gmt900

I recently heard that the fuel filters on a GMT900 are internal to the gas tank. Is that true, and why? I have a 2008 Sierra ext cab z71 and was suprised when a dealer told me that. Are they unserviceable? I used to change the fuel filters as a routine maintenance thing on my older vehicles.....but I guess it isn't much of an issue anymore?

  Did the first oil change at 850 miles on my 6 week old 2026 2500HD TB 4x4 V8. Used Mobil 1 5W30 which I have been using for years in my trucks and late model GM cars, and a PF63 AC Delco filter. Took exactly 8 QT and right to the top of the dipstick. Debating if I will let the dealer do the next one. It's $60 worth of supplies and 30min of my time to DIY and probably would end up wasting a lot of time if I brought it to the dealer, not to mention the risk of them doing something stupid. I mean it happens. first longer road trip this weekend so I wanted to get this done first. Saw very minor metal flake in bottom of drain pan - nothing significant, as you would expect.

  All the car dealers in my area use it. I guess they must hid the people who fill out the fake information that’s on there. All the dealerships buy their oil in bulk. The cheapest of course then sell it as the best. Places that report the most reliable vehicles in the past five years and beyond. Only recommend the vehicles being the best if they pay enough to the reporting agencies. The smart dealers don’t really change the oil they just change the sticker in the window, more profit that way. What really cuts into the profit is the extra money they have to pay the employees to sign a non disclosure agreement. Otherwise the whole scheme falls apart. So it’s probably foolish to trust CPOs, carfax, car check because they’re all crooks and just buy new. Theirs just one problem. They don’t seem to be any better. Funny that hasn’t been my experience. I must be lucky.

  I think there is a frame ground under the driver`s door. Take that thing off, clean it and put it back. See what happens.
