Mac Or Pc?

Which one do yall prefer?

I've used PC's all my life and for the most part i hated them. They always froze, were laggy, and took forever to boot up.

I got a macbook pro for college and I've have had it right at 8 months and i still love it. It boots up from being turned off very quick and boots up from sleep mode extremely quick. It hasn't got a virus yet, and it hardly ever freezes.

I use a Mac, but have VMware Fusion running so I can use my Quicken 2010 and the "real" versions of Microsoft Excel 2010 and Word 2010. Seems to work well for me - but, even though I've had a Mac for about 3 years, I still get angry about the different function of some of the keys (home, end, etc.). That minor quibble aside, this thing has been great for me.

If you use your computer like 90% of the world...Mac is fine.

I personally am a PC person, and I use windows when doing usual stuff (surfing, playing games etc)....however when I want to do some more in depth stuff I reboot and flash my Ubuntu OS on my PC. It never crashes, just like Mac, and boots fast just like Mac....oh wait, maybe thats why Mac OS is based off unix/linux....just like Ubuntu. Mac OS is just locked up like Fort Knox, and wont allow you to do certain things....Just like they're Phones and Tablets....Thank God for Android and open source.

So....yeah I'm a PC person....just not really fond of windows...which is really what your complaining about....not the computer. Mac computers and PC's all have the same components....right down to the processor...the only difference is the OS...and the exorbitant amount of money apple soaks you to limit your actions. You'll buy 3 times the PC for the same price you pay for a Mac....but it looks pretty and wont allow you to do anything to affect it...so I guess thats worth the G note extra you pay for it.

Mac is fine for home users and media hounds (mp3, video, etc)

it has no place in a work environment that requires heavy office software or SQL DB usage..

I maintain both for my company, I never have any real issues with either insofar as the equipment, the biggest issues I have and between the chair and keyboard, and it doesn't matter which platform, that error is consistent in both.

im like pc! I paid $600 4 years ago for my pc and has never froze or anything. I have no firewall or ani virus! I used the shit put of my computer and goes months without being turned off. i just have some spyware scanners and that's it. I have up to 20 tabs open at once some time and keeps on going! oh and ive never had a problems with vista either lol Most reason people have problems because of porn sites and music downloads!

I can't stand macs personally, I find them so frustrating to use, i honestly do not understand how people say they are so much easier to use than windows 7, it makes zero sense to me, and the mouse only having one button really gets to me. Theyare quite nice looking though.

Or not knowing what to turn off...the firewall and antivirus is usually the biggest drain on system resources.

Again...90% of the population has a problem with vista...the same 90% that just surf use e-mail and download everything under the sun.

Having said that....windows 7 is much better than Vista.

Neither holds a candle to Linux though.

Another PC advantage....where can you buy a basic brand new Mac for under 400 bucks. And have it do everything you need as an average user (e-mail, surf, download, streaming and light gaming...oh and of course post to GMTC  )

You may need to get a new one every 2 years, but thats 8 years of cheap computers before you add up to the price of a one Mac...and I bet the Mac will need to be upgraded at least once in 8 years...maybe even twice...

No way would I pay over a G-note for a computer with the components that Mac's have in them.

"Twice the Quality....at 3 times the price"...isn't that Steve Jobs motto....

dont really like the apples operating system. i have a computer my buddy built for me when i was heavy into gaming with dual nvidia 9800 GT's and a quadcore proccesor clocked at 2.8 which never lets me down.

porn and music downloads like someone else said will kill a PC.

I'm a PC guy myself. I have one Mac at our office that I maintain, but all the others are PC. I also have a Linux Email server, and a Linux based phone system (Phone Systems are my main job function, along with Networking). My Laptop is a triple boot. I have Windows XP (for legacy phone systems that use outdated software), Windows 7 64bit, and Ubuntu Linux. At home I use Windows 7 more than anything else, but also have a Linux Machine as well here. And also have a Droid...

Since the debate has been opened, allow me to open another can.....

I use Linux (specifically Ubuntu) on both my home server and laptop. No windoze for me.

mostly depends on what you use it for. "hip" college students/teens who spend 20 hours a week on facebook will go for apple computers. everyone else running a buisness and who needs a computer for work will get one of the many windows equipped computers.

that is, in my own opinion, i know im exaggerating a little

Nothing wrong with a Mac....not saying there is...But a similarly equipped PC running Ubuntu will do circles around both a Mac and a Windows based system....plus just about everything you need for it software wise is free.

Steve Jobs charges a hefty price to get your soul back when you die....just remember that...thats what the "," in the price tag is for...everything in front of it is the Soul tax.

Same computer hardware wise...or damn close....the Mac is 400 bucks more. The PC is more computer than most people will ever need.

I have a desk top with a quad core, 8GB ram, dual 9800GTS video cards heat pipes for cooling, 1K power supply, etc etc...I paid 1000 bucks for it. New.

Why, oh why would you buy from Best Buy?

Head on over to a site named www.overclock.net (I'm a member there) and we can point you in the right direction as to get custom computer parts, and how to build custom computers. Cheaper, more performance and better in general.
