i had new leather installed in my 2010 silverado ext. cab yesterday. OMG!!! this stuff is EXTREMELY comfortable! and it looks 1,000,000 ba-zillion times better than the boring cloth that collected dog hair from my clothes!

 

after i got home i put on the UHR roof panel and steering wheel radio controls... i have a "Service Airbag" light after the new wheel went on, but i will get it fixed at the dealer tomorrow.

 

here is a pic of the new leather!!!!!!

 

 

once i get the airbag light fixed, my interior will be done... for now (thinking about better speakers, auto dimming mirror, double din nav..... the list never ends!!!!)

i paid about $1645 for parts and labor. base price was $1295; it was an extra $225 for perforated 2-tone inserts, the rest was tax.

 

i got a discount, because the dealership i bought it at last year referred me, and i told the shop owner that i had just bought the truck but i preferred to bring it in myself and pay cash for the leather instead of the dealer adding it to the cost sheet

 

the dove tail grey inserts and stitching match the stock headliner and upper pillars really well!

 

a lot of dealerships offer "adding leather" to trucks. if you want leather, do what i did, and call the dealership to see where they take their vehicles to get it done and see if the shop will offer you a discount since the dealership referred you.

 

i did the same thing with the tint on my wife's new SRX, we paid $50 for the 2 front windows and it has a lifetime warranty!
