I took mine in a 1986 Bronco, the full size one.

That was one of the easiest vehicles to turn because of the wheelbase so parallel parking was no problem and the rest of the test was easy.

Chevy one ton 4x4.  Test didn't require parallel parking or I would have been screwed.  Could have used my S-10 Blazer or the family car, but I didn't.  Had to go with the only cool vehicle, my dads truck at the time.

I took mine in Dad's '76 3/4 ton Chevy.  He also took me out to one of the store parking lots a few times when it was real snowy and icey and showed me how to handle slick roads in this truck too.  That was in '85.

I took my test in a full size long wheelbase Chevy Van with a three speed manual on the column and I DID have to parallel park. Matter of fact that was usually the last thing they made you do. My rider took one look at the van and made me park first. I got it in the spot ok, he relaxed a little then.

I learned to drive in a 3/4 ton pickup with a manual trans and 10ft cab over camper.

Man...  Good, bad or otherwise, I got you all beat.  I took my driver's test in a 1961 all American made Chrysler Newport.  It was my dads car.  He was a Chrysler man.  It had pushbutton transmission controls and the largest and last in the series of fins sticking out the back...  AND NO A/C.  Those were the days

I remember those old mopars. My Dad had a 1964 Newport.

Don't you wish we had all the old cars we used to call "junk"?

1986 Olds Firenza (same as Cavalier) 4-door automatic.  Had my own Honda 5-speed, but thought I'd do better with the slushbox...at least I passed!

Last summer a friend and I took a Newport and turned it into a demo car.  Most fun I've had in a long time.  Destruction is awesome!!!
