Door Popping When Closing

Over the past couple weeks I noticed my door starting to pop/creak when I closed it and it progressively got worse. I finally sprayed some lube on the hinge mechanism and its far quieter, but it hasn't completely gone away. Is there anything I can do to totally get rid of this problem?

Lube it again and make sure you get every moving part. I have to do mine a few times a year when they start doing the problem you are explaining. Also use a good lube that will be on there for a while. I use some dupont teflon spray.

The roller on mine got rusty over the winter and was making lots of noise. I sprayed them and it got pretty quiet but it took a week of opening and closing to go silent again.

On my $75,000 Denali..., The front door also "pops". The hinge rolller is completly siezed up and won't roll. Lubing the heck out of it only allows the hinge to slide along the roller instead of rolling. Does that for a week until it dries out again. i need some serious fine penetrating oil!!

What's the best to use to free up my hinge roller?? So embarassing opening up the door on a $75k vehicle, when the guy with a 96' Civic door opens silently.

I've had the same problem on both doors. Like said, my rollers also got rusty from the winter. I packed the rollers with some automotive grease and after 2-3 of open/close it went away. It does come back towards the end of winter every year but i just do the same thing each time. I just had to do them about 3wks ago. Justin
