Shift Lever Replacement

So my shift lever and tow/haul button on my silverado is not working again. The wire is broke and I already soldered it once. I have a friend who has a shifter from a 2008 silverado and I just wanted to know if it would work in my truck. Are the wires the same and the screw that holds it in?

I don't have access to service manual + never replace shift lever

When I was looking up posts when I put the escalade shifter in mine there was a thread over on gmfs where people said they fit, what wasnt clear was if the plug was the same so u may have to splice wires

Alright thanks for the input ill have to look into this further before I start taking everything apart again.
