doesn't surprise me based on the fact that nissan's are paper thin.. my first wife had a 1988 Sentra when we started dating, if I sneezed too hard I dented the car..

if your driving a car that old, especially a little japanese car, your taking a very large saftey risk right there

any vehicle can turn into a steel coffin in a hurry with enough speed and a large enough mass to hit or be hit by, being a fireman for years i've come to realise that unless your driving an abhrams tank your boned if you get hit with enough speed...the pt cruiser is by far one of the worst designs ever for crash tests

i actually T boned a PT cruiser a few years ago in my 1999 3500 dually.... some stupid very young girl pulled out last second in front of me and she had to slam on the brakes and some guy was turning across the street becasue he had right of way so there for i slammed into the left rear door and left rear quarter panel of the PT going about 35-40 mph. the pt got thrown across the street and about 7-8 feet into a patch of grass.... very scary and amazing to see that, but luckily she walked out just shaken, but the pt was absolutley obliterated. the rear of the car was only half there. and i ended up driving away replacing just the front grill, headlight, turn signals and bumper of my truck

and for those who know, the GMT400 brakes are not exactly the best brakes about there... especially in a large 3500

I hit a Cavalier after the guy pulled out from behind a semi.. he said he could not see, he just gunned it and hoped for the best. It was a 4 lane road, the semi was in the far right, i was in the next lane. I was going about 35 mph... clipped the front half of the Cavalier. I pulled over, pretty pissed. I had just bought my truck three weeks prior. The bumper and headlights of the Cavalier were across the street in a ditch, hood was caved in. My truck had the bumper pushed up about 3", other than that no scratches, nothing. He got a ticket for failure to yield. Plus, he was driving a rental car.. without extra insurance.

Condonlescences to that womans family.. that is very tragic.
