Removing Body Lift

Hey guys,

I will be getting a gooseneck hitch installed on my truck as I just bought a 20 foot gooseneck horse trailer. The problem is I have a 3" BL installed which clearly wont work well with the setup. I also don't want to make any type of fabrication to make it work. Therefor I will be removing the body lift and going back to stock.

My question, what is the steps needed to remove the kit...do I just need to remove the blocks and re-install the stock bolts? Is it that easy? I never installed the kit myself so I'm not sure.

Thanks!

I would start by getting the directions and working backwards. It would really be helpful if you had someone who has installed one before to help out. Also I would find out which one it is (PA, zone, etc...). It might be a little more work than you think because on the zone at least (that I have), you had to modify the front and rear bumper brackets, so you would probably need to buy new ones I think. I'm not real sure though. It just seems like a lot of work.

Your pulling this gooseneck with a half-ton? I know it will handle it, just don't see many from here. They are all either diesel or 3/4 tons. Why not just buy a bumper pull and avoid all of this?

Yeah, I think its going to be a little tougher than you think. Doable, but not as easy as it sounds. But Yes, it's should be as easy as removing the blocks and brackets used to extend "stuff" 3" or out of the way and relocating all that "stuff" back to OE locations.
