I'm sure Blackbear could tune specifically for mileage, but I wouldn't count on more than 1-2 mpg better. Cost would have to be discussed with him, but tunes start at $200.

I got a little over 2MPG on my 2006 Silverado 1500 crew with a Westers tune. I totaled it and now have a 2011 crew. I'm doing the Westers again but I have heard many good things about Blackbear, Wheatly and Nelson so go with who's closer to you.

looks like nelson, and blackbear are the only ones that do the NNBS. all of their websites IMO arent very good, BB's is a little more informative, but would be nice to see EXACTLY what each of their tunes do. Nelsons doesnt even tell you what years of vehicles they can tune.

I would call or e-maill all of them. Tell them what you are looking for and tell them you will be talking to other tuners. I have talked to all of them at some point and all are very friendly, very knowledgeable and very talented. I happened to go with Westers because I have a distributor 20 min from me and the tunes are done quick. Like I said, I have talked to all of them and believe they all have great tunes. Unless you have something very, very specific I would go with the person most convenient to you. If price matters, go with the cheaper I guess. You can't go wrong with any of them.

The don't list "what each one of their tunes do" on BB, because they are all different. They are customized to what you want. I had the edge evolution and didn't see jack shit for extra MPG (which is why I bought it). Wound up selling it for a loss of about $50, and got the BB tune. It is a hundred times better and I say at least a 1 MPG increase. The tunes are specific to what each driver wants. I, for instance, have 85% of my torque mgnt removed and my tow haul button set to "extreme". So I don't have a tow/haul anymore. Mine is also set up for regular 87 octane. You can get it tuned specifically to what octane you want etc.... That is why they don't list "different" tunes that you can get on their website.

Now i know they removed most of the torque management, and set up the tune for different octanes of gas. I have been emailing BB and only get a reply every 2 days, and some reason i didnt get a reply at all last week. I live in Vermont, drive a 2011. I was told that AutoCal was all they could do for me, and left it at that. I asked for a price with shipping, what the process entailed.

Which is why they should have a MORE DETAILED WEBSITE.......... at least have a list of things they can change, or modify. You sir, just told me more about the BB tune than their website ever did in about a paragraph on a forum. I have no doubt that this is well worth the money. I am 100% interested in getting their product. Maybe I should pick up a phone, but i dont. the questions i asked the rep are easily answered VIA e-mail.

Yeah, I hear ya Travis. That is odd that you get a reply every couple of days. Everytime I have dealt with them via email, I was responded to the same day. The only time it took longer than that (and this could be your issue as well) is look at the forums on this site, gmfullsize, fillsizechevy, etc... They are booked solid for weeks with tunes set up all over the country almost every weekend it seems. I think Justin is the only one that does them, so it takes a little while for him personally to get back with people. Usually Jenna or someone else with BB will respond. There is no telling how many emails/calls Justin gets every day regarding tunes, especially when he us in a different city every weekend.

We were on a tuning trip last weekend, so our email responses were very delayed. What email were you writing from, I can look into your responses.

As far as the website, it is hard to please everyone, and we have tried to include as much info as possible on the website without confusing people. We have so many people to please- such as folks like yourself that want more info, and others who say that currently there is too much info on the site. We definitely try to answer all questions via email, I am sorry you feel that the response you received was not adequate- I will definitely look into it.
