My uncle has had this 1992 C1500 since '94 (Bought it used 5 days after i was born) and decided to give it to me for my 16th birthday (November 2010). Recently he's given it an almost full overhaul, including new engine and repaint (went with the stock colors it originally had). Heres a pic.

Any plans for the new truck? A wheel package will really change the entire look :)

Of course. Been torn between two thoughts though; either get some big-ass black rims with red inserts and low-profile tires (to match the paint) or some matte-black 15's (so i can keep my new A/T's).

Also want to get some subs and an amp for sound, and a bedliner.

Opinions?

welcome and nice looking truck. definatley get some 15' steelies and keep your tires, no low profile garbage :)

Yeah, that's probably what i'll do. Plenty of off-road terrain here, plus i would be pissed if i grinded my rims on a curb. Oh and i plan on taking some tubing and making a roll bar, but i want to find a way to do it without having to take my toolbox off.

Nice looking GMT-400, Im all for the big ass rims and lo pro tires on a 2wd....on a 4x4....that looks idiotic. Congrats on getting such a cherry truck.

Yeah, it sucks that it's 2wd, but a friend of mine said he could get me parts to convert it to 4wd. I'd love to, but that's waaay down the road.

Ive heard only if you go solid front axle is a this financially a good idea. If you want to swap in an independent factory front Ive heard its a HUGE pain in the ass, like not worth it. If anything, youd probably be better off buying a beater 4x4 truck and swapping frames.

No offense here but IDK why the "Not worth it" line is always used when someone wants to do a major change to their truck. IMO its worth is as long as it makes the owner happy.
