Gmt 800 Antenna Removal

So I wanted to swap antennas and went to turn off the stock one and the stud broke flush with the mount. I am curious as to how the antenna was mounted in the first place?

 

1) Is it like others where it is a two sided stud? Half in the base and half in the antenna.

2) Would an EZ-out be the best option to get the remainder of the post out of the base?

 

Just need some advice or info from others who have done this. I have not been able to find out how it is actually mounted on the truck. Thanks for the help.

Would the part numbers in that topic be the same for my truck? Sorry I forgot to add, its a 99 gmc sierra 1500. I am not against the delete but want to make sure I get the right panel.
