mattymax Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Does NOT happen every time, when I first start my truck and go to roll the drivers side window down, it doesnt immediately go down. The switch doesnt react for about 10 seconds, sometimes 15 seconds, sometimes 5. The drivers side is the only window this happens on, and it seems to happen worse on hot days. What do you guys think ?? -matt

doverarjim Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 It will be the wire loom from inside the truck to the door switch, I have changed everything on mine and still have no up down on drivers side. Dealer told me it is cheaper and easier to just replace it, but for the 99 that part is no long available!!
Zembonez Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 On my 07, the driver's door glass will not go down for 5-10 seconds after I start the truck. It has always done that - but I don't know if it is by design. It has never failed to work otherwise. I just got used to it. Edit: I never have timed this, but after a few seconds it always works fine. It seems consistent, so I figured it was just part of the operation.
PolenskyRacing Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 My 08 2500hd does the samething but not all the time. It has me puzzled!!
Zembonez Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Hmmm. I need to pay close attention to this and see if it varies.
sillywillie07 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 my 07 silverado did this. They replaced the switch and it still did it. Traded that truck in for my 2010 and that does it too. It only happens on hot days. I just live with it.
